Welcome to the world of estate sales—where behind the velvet ropes and polished antiques lies an industry built on heart, hard work and human connection.
 

You’ve just taken your first step into a profession that’s far more than arranging fine china and unlocking the front door for buyers. This course will give you the tools, insight, and hands-on knowledge that only years of real-world experience can teach—and we’re thrilled to share it with you.
 

Estate sales are not all glamour and showtime. While they may end with a beautiful, curated experience for the public, the path to that point often demands rolling up your sleeves and diving deep into the less-than-glamorous side of the business. In our experience, we’ve had to empty entire rooms to rip up old carpets (with the homeowner’s consent), pull out the floor staples and bring the contents back inside for staging. We've faced tough hoarding situations, battled bed bugs, mowed overgrown lawns and scrubbed down trailers for the sake of a successful sale. We navigated everything from missing vehicle titles to hazardous materials like asbestos—all to help a client move forward.

We revised our contract again and again to reflect the real challenges that this work can bring. And yet—every struggle has been a stepping stone to offering better service, more compassion, and a sharper eye for value, both tangible and intangible.

But don’t worry—it’s not all grit and grime. Estate sales also give us the freedom to work our own hours, meet incredible people from all walks of life, and uncover one-of-a-kind treasures that elevate a space in ways that mass-produced goods never could.
 

Every estate sale tells a story. Some clients are navigating loss. Others are joyfully downsizing, remodeling, moving across the country, or stepping into a brand-new chapter of life. No two sales are ever the same, and as an estate sale professional, you will serve as the trusted liaison between your client's past and their future.
 

A client and his wife once told me, "We want to leave  this house with a suitcase each."  And in that moment, their profound statement changed everything. They were ready to part with it all—furniture, heirlooms, keepsakes and clothes—to embrace a completely new life. That moment stayed with me as a powerful reminder:  it's all just stuff. Letting go of that stuff is what allows people to truly move on. It’s peaceful, freeing, and, in the right hands, their treasures will be deeply appreciated by the next owner.
 

This profession isn’t just about selling—it’s about service. It’s about listening, advising, encouraging, and honoring each person’s unique journey.
